Repeat Prescriptions

pill_spill2If your doctor has arranged for you to receive long-term medication then they do not need to see you each time you require more tablets etc.  In these circumstances you will receive a list of pre-authorised medications, printed on the white paper to the right of your green prescription.  When you need further supplies please tick the item(s) required and either take or post the slip to your normal Surgery.  You may prefer to ring your Surgery (between 10am and 1pm Monday - Friday) to order a repeat prescription.

If your request is for an item or items which are 'on repeat', within the interval authorised by your doctor, then your prescription will be ready for collection within 2 working days.  If you have not ordered in time and need your medication sooner than that please tell the receptionist when you place your order.  If you are wishing to order items no longer authorised 'on repeat' your request may take a little longer to process and the doctor may require you to come in for tests and/or a consultation before deciding whether or not to prescribe.  Please help us to help you by attending your medication review appointment promptly when requested.

You do not have to collect the prescription yourself but, if you send someone else (aged 16 or over) to collect it on your behalf, please ask them to bring with them proof that they have your permission.  If you would like us to send it to you by post, please include a stamped addressed envelope with your request.

Many Pharmacies operate collection services, so will pick up your prescription for you so that your medications will be ready when you call to collect them – please ask a receptionist for a current list.  On-site pharmacies, neither of which are operated by the Practice, are located at our Elizabeth Court & Pinfold Surgeries.  There is no requirement for you to use those outlets and you can elect to use any Pharmacy of your choosing.

All patients who are taking repeat medication will be reviewed at least annually by their doctor and our reception staff will advise you when you are due for review.  Please help us to help you by booking a review appointment when advised to do so.
